In light of the ban of public events because of the COVID-19 global pandemic, regular distributions will not be possible.
Most food banks had announced they would be closed, but a few volunteers tackled the situation and have organized for food packages to be delivered to those in need. This will only be available to people in the capital region for now, but solutions for others will be looked into.
People can register online here. Rules for receiving aid are the same as usual. If you’ve received aid from Iceland Family Aid in the last year, you already qualify. If you have not, you will need to send us a copy of your last tax return to skraning@fjolskylduhjalp.is. Iceland Family Aid is certified by the Data Protection Authority to process this information under strict confidentiality.
